The Altar Servers assist the priest and deacons during the parish liturgies and is open to anyone in the third grade or older who has received First Communion may be an Altar Server. Training is provided.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest and deacon in the distribution of Holy Communion under both species at all Masses. They also bring Holy Communion to the sick and shut-ins, as needed.
Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish . Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.
A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group volunteers about once a month.
The Parish Pastoral Council accepts responsibility with the pastor for the life and mission of our Church. As such, this Council acts as an authentic representative voice of the people of God (lay, religious and clerical) to the pastor. The council members are elected by vote of the parishioners.
Lectors proclaim God’s word at Mass by reading the Word of God from the Bible in a way that will help the congregation fully appreciate and understand the message God is sending forth.
RCIA is a gradual process by which the Catholic community welcomes, prepares and initiates new members into the church. It is a year round process and one can inquire at any time. It is designed for those: not baptized, baptized in the Roman Catholic Church and in need of Eucharist and/or Confirmation, and baptized in another Christian Church and in need of further instruction and initiation. Ushers assist at Mass and liturgical services by greeting people and controlling their seating and movement before and during the service. They also conduct the offertory collection, communion processions and Sunday Bulletin (and other materials) distribution after Mass.
Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.
These ladies meet the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in St. Therese Hall. Various activities include bake sales and other fundraising activities to buy altar linens and vestments, wine, candles and other needed items for the altar. The Altar Society operates the religious goods store located in St. Joseph Church.
The St. Peregrine Society offers support of a spiritual manner to anyone who has experienced cancer in their life. If you or any member of your family, has cancer, has had cancer, or is the caretaker of someone with cancer, we invite you to join our parish Cancer Support Group.
The Vigil Society assists the members of our parish at a time of great loss and grief. They assist by providing the parishioner with a meal on the day of the funeral. Members are asked to provide a dish of food that will be taken to the grieving parishioner's home. No scheduled meetings are held, but when necessary, the committee members are called.
Those who wish to participate and those just interested in knowing more about The Divine Mercy Chaplet/Novena are encouraged to gather in the Divine Mercy Chapel (Cry Room) at 3:00 p.m. each day. Pamphlets and rosaries will be available.
The Knights of Columbus are a fraternal brotherhood of Catholic men who are members of the International Order of the Knights of Columbus. Their mission is to render service to our priests, parish and community and promote charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. The Knights of Columbus provide religious, social, educational, and community service programs. Knights are practicing Catholics 18years of age.
