RCIA is a gradual process by which the Catholic community welcomes, prepares and initiates new members into the church. It is a year round process and one can inquire at any time. It is designed for those: not baptized, baptized in the Roman Catholic Church and in need of Eucharist and/or Confirmation, and baptized in another Christian Church and in need of further instruction and initiation. For more information call the office at (361) 358-3239.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC)

The RCIA adapted for children is instruction for children between the ages of eight and seventeen, who have had little or no previous faith formation experience. Some are not baptized; others have been baptized in another Christian faith, and are seeking complete initiation in the Catholic Church. Classes begin in the fall and the process for children’s initiation usually takes two years. Children who were baptized Catholic but have had little or no formation since baptism may receive instruction and sacramental preparation with this group. After reception of the sacrament, all children continue with instruction at their grade level. If you know of any children or adults who are interested in becoming Catholic, contact the Faith Formation Office for more information or to register.
